What is a Chatbot?

A chatbot is an artificial intelligence (AI) software that can simulate a conversation (or a chat) with a user in natural language through messaging applications, websites, mobile apps or the telephone.
A chatbot is often described as one of the most advanced and promising expressions of interaction between humans and machines. However, from a technological point of view, a chatbot only represents the natural evolution of a Question Answering system leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP). Formulating responses to questions in natural language is one of the most typical Examples of Natural Language Processing applied in various enterprises’ end-use applications.

Why Chatbot with ?
Our chatbot workshops are designed to trigger interest, make learning less formal and deepen critical reflection for impactful engagement. Each chatbot will have a personality created by the learner (e.g. Serious Sam or Achieving Alice) and these personas are important for building a relationship with the learner. Over time, learners create and ‘talk’ to the learning chatbots as part of their learning experience. Best of all? No coding experience is required.

In partnership with UNESCO, learners can leverage on this experience to add value into their Direct School Admission (DSA) portfolio. The end product learners create can supplement the Language and Humanities component of DSA portfolio. Thus, this gives learners the extra advantage they need.
